— Driving in the turning lane and left of center caught the eye of Gentry police and also netted a Decatur man for possession of drug paraphernalia and what was believed to be synthetic marijuana or K2.

Nicolas Ames, 24, of Decatur, was arrested by Gentry Police on July 23 after he allegedly made a wide turn south on Arkansas Highway 59 from Dawn Hill East Road and then drove in the turning lane and left of center, police reports say.

When stopped, the Gentry officer saw a baggy on the floor board which he thought possibly contained a controlled substance, police reports say. Ames also allegedly dropped a marijuana pipe which was on the seat between his legs when exiting the pickup truck he was driving.

Ames passed three field sobriety tests, according to police reports, but was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and synthetic marijuana.

Ames was still being held in the Benton County Jail on Monday with no bond due to a pending revocation of suspended sentence or probation.
