Savage completes U.S. Air Force basic training

— Air Force Airman 1st Class Matthew D. Savage graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Savage is the son of Robert Savage of Bozarth Cemetery Road, Gentry, and Kari King of Southwest Second Street, Bentonville. He is a 2009 graduate of Gentry High School.
