GRAVETTE — The Gravette Church of Christ and Samaritan Community Center are joining forces this year to provide free backpacks to area school children. The backpacks, filled with various school supplies, will be distributed from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at thechurch, located at 202 Irving Street S.W.
Vouchers are required to obtain the backpacks. The vouchers can be picked up at the church or at Care and Share any time through Tuesday, Aug. 7. No age limit is listed but each student must have a voucher, and they cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.
Children will be givenfree haircuts at the backpack give-away, and some free clothing will be available, according to church pastor Bob Kirkley.
Free hot dogs will be served, and inflatable toys will be provided for the children’s entertainment.
