— A Gravette team is being created in memory of Dr. Billy V. Hall to walk in the NWA Walk to End Alzheimer’s, which will be held Sept. 22 at Arvest Ballpark in Springdale.

Morgan Black, communications coordinator at Ozarks Community Hospital, said, “Dr. Hall was such a staple in the community and we love that we get this opportunity to remember him and join the fight against such an awful disease.”

Dr. Hall spent the last several months of his life crippled by Alzheimer’s.

“We are hoping to get a great turnout for this event,” Black added.

She explained that, to join the Memory Team, a $25 donation will secure a T-shirt and goodie bag, or for a $15 donation the donor will receive a Tshirt. All team members will walk together at the Sept. 22 walk.

Black said the goal is to raise $1,995 in honor of the year Dr. Hall opened the first hospital in Gravette. Contact her at the hospital to become a partof this project. Her number is 344-6464, and her email is [email protected]. People may become team members even if they are unable or choose not to walk.

“We are also selling forget-me-nots to hang in thehallway of the hospital for ‘Dr. Hall’s Memory Wall.’ Persons may purchase these for $1 and write their names on them. People may also donate to the Alzheimer’s Association of Oklahoma and Arkansas at the hospital,” Black said.
