— Sympathy is extended to the Pike family for their loss.

Last evening there was a buck, a doe and three little deer in my driveway looking for anything green they could find to eat. I figured they were headed for my apple tree but I never did see any of them in the yard. They might have reached across the fence and got an apple.

Folks, drink plenty of liquids, stay hydrated. I found out the hard way by spending almost five hours in the emergency room on Saturday while they put two units of fluid in me.

Trevor and Emily Belvins spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Lofty Carrier. Mr. and Mrs. Brian Carrier, Mr. and Mrs. Ward Carrier, Gabe Carrier and I had lunch with DaleLynn Carrier on Sunday.

Larry and Regina Keith have spent a few days in Deere, visiting friends.

Sympathy is extended to the Stacy family for their loss.

I have a new neighbor. Little Elijah Carl Cox was born Monday, July 30, weighing in at 7 pounds plus.

Mr. and Mrs. Lofty Carrier, Lamarise Henry and Maxine Holloway attended a family gathering at Lake Ft. Smith on Saturday to honor Maxine’s sister Faye on her birthday.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hamilton and Novella Carlton attended the visitation for Benny Swindell on Thursdayevening, then went to Flying Fish to eat.

Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs. Richard Carver and Jake and Novella Carlton were in Springdale to honor Mr. and Mrs. Gregg on their 50th wedding anniversary.

The Billy Habermehl family lost two vehicles during the storm Saturday night when a large tree fell in their yard, barely missing their house.

There was quite a bit of wind damage in the area but we are very thankful for some rain.

Those enjoying lunch on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Ward Carrier, Mike and Gabe were Mr. and Mrs. Lofty Carrier, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Carrier, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Brooks and myself.

August 8, 1976, the Chicago White Sox baseball team suited up in shorts.
