Gravette FBLA students place in top 20 at national competition

— Taylor Fournier and Joshua Lockhart, two Gravette FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) students, earlier this summer, competed on the national level in business ethics. They were accompanied by their advisor, Harry Almond.

Fournier and Lockhart earned the honor by competing against their peers in the District VII and State FBLA competitions.

More than 8,000 students and advisors, representing 44 states and two U.S.

territories, converged on San Antonio for the national competition. More than 60 events were held during the six days of competitions which ended with a ceremony held July 2.

The Gravette duo were presented an ethics scenario and allowed 20 minutes to prepare a seven-minute solution before a panel of judges. Sixty-four teams were in the preliminary event, with 15 moving to the final presentation.

“Taylor and Josh placed in the top 20,” advisor Harry Almond said. “Congratulations to these guys for a job well done.”
