Two Decatur thieves caught

DECATUR — Thieves broke into a home on 8th Street in Decatur last Wednesday and took jew- elry and electronics.

Weicht, 20, who they be- lieve was also involved in the burglary, Decatur Police Sergeant Joe Savage said.

A large rock was used to break out a bedroom window on the backside of the house around 2:30 p.m., Aug. 21, and jewelry, a Nikon Camera and an iPad 2 were taken from the home, according to Sav- age.

A witness saw two men

running from the scene and was able to give police a good description which led to the identification of the suspects using photo lineups, Savage said.

Some of the stolen items had already been recovered on Monday, and Decatur Police Chief Terry Luker said there was a good chance the remaining items would be recovered as well.
