— Jason Barrett was re-elected Nov. 27 to his Ward 1, Position 1, seat on the Gentry City Council. He was opposed in the runoff election by Katrina Cryer.

Cryer received 70 votes, or almost 37 percent of the votes cast in the runoff election. Barrett received 120 votes, or 63 percent.

“I am deeply disappointed by the loss; however, I am extremely thankful for the support I received,” Cryer said. “I have gained valuable experience this election cycle that will guide me in my future endeavors.”

Barrett led, too, in the General election on Nov. 6, with 367 votes but not more than 50 percent. Cryer came in second, with 275 votes; and Joe Savage third, with 262.

“I would like to thank voters for their support shown during the general and runoff elections,” Barrett said. “I look forward to continued work with the mayor and other members of the council to keep Gentry moving forward in a positive direction.”

In Centerton, the Ward 1, Position 2, race was decided with Robin Reed winning over Brad Carpenter, 68 votes to 52.
