Holiday Express to stop at Decatur Depot

— The cookies are ordered, the hot cocoa is ready and Santa is on his way on the Kansas City Southern Holiday Express Train.

The six-car train willbring the jolly old elf to Decatur from 4 to 8 p.m., Dec. 10. Chamber of Commerce members made final plans for the visit at Monday’s meeting.

The Holiday Express train is 366 feet long and includes “Rudy” the smiling tank car, a flatcarcarrying Santa’s sleigh, reindeer and a miniature village, a gingerbread boxcar, the elves’ workshop, the reindeer stable and a little red caboose.

The train will be available for tours, free of charge, and children will be able to meet with Santain the last car and receive a gift bag.

The Decatur Museum Depot and historic cabin will also be open for tours during the evening, and the Chamber of Commerce will be serving hot chocolate, coffee and cookies at the depot.
