Lighting ceremony to be held in Gravette on Friday

— The 17th annual “Love Lights a Tree” lighting ceremony will be held at 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 7, in the Gravette Centennial Park. Donations are still being accepted to place lights on the tree that raises money each year for the American Cancer Society.

White lights are placed on the tree in memory of those who have died, red lights honor cancer survivors and blue lights are added to honor persons in the military or anyone the donor wishes to remember. A $5 donation is suggested for each light.

When sending in yourinformation and donation, send the name of the person to be honored on the tree, what color light should be featured, your name and relationship to the person honored.

All donations go to research programs of the American Cancer Society of Northwest Arkansas.

Chairperson Foster and her helpers expressed their appreciation to the Gravette city crew which helps with this project each year.
