Child abduction attempted

— Gravette Police Officer Bryan Smith told the Eagle Observer Monday to advise parents they should always warn their children to be wary of strangers, even in asmall town like Gravette.

His advice comes after a Gravette mother reported her eight-year-old daughter and another small girl were approached by a man and woman on a motorcycle recently and asked if the girls would like to take a ride.

The incident occurred several days ago, not far from Old Town Park, Smith said.

The girls refused and ran away, the officer said.

He also said descriptions of the man and woman and the motorcycle were taken and theincident is still under investigation.

If anyone has information concerning the reported incident, contact the Police Department, Officer Bryan Smith or Officer Josh Crane, who assisted with the investigation.
