— The junior high Lady Pioneers (9-3, 2-0 conference) grabbed a big win over the visiting Lady Cardinals (1-1 conference) Thursday, 36-27.

Haley Borgetein-James led all scorers with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4steals, and Mallory Morris added 11 points and 4 steals for the Gentry girls.

“This was a huge win for us, because I felt like it was the most complete game we've played offensively and defensively,” said Gentry coach Daren Ward.

“Farmington made a run, but we were able torespond and get back in control of the game, because we didn't turn the ball over very much in the second half, especially at the end,” Ward said.

“It was also great to be back home in front of our fans. It was a fun atmosphere, and our team feeds off of that energy the crowd brings,” he said.
