— The Decatur High School Future Business Leaders of America placed first in several events at a district competition in Springdale last Wednesday, qualifying them for the state competition in Little Rock.

The Decatur FBLA won first place in parliamentary procedure in the team competition and Kaula Yang won first place in word processing individually, according to teacher Melissa Stephenson.

The team, comprised of Logan Jamison, Carlene Vargas, Lensey Watson, Joe Casteneda and Yuepheng Vang, took a written test on parliamentary procedure and prepared a presentation.

Yang also took a written test on word processing and a production test that consisted of creating documents on the computer.

The students are all eligible to compete in the FBLA state competition on April 2, Stephenson said.
