April Abiera (right) of Gravette took first place in colored pencil competition at the state Beta Club Convention held recently at Hot Springs.
Abiera is a senior at the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Science and the Arts at Hot Springs. She is the daughter of Michael and Lisa Abiera of Gravette.
Shown with her, on the left, is Casey Gibson, daughter of George and Cynthia Miller of Jonesboro. She is a junior at ASMSA and placed second in the acrylic painting competition.
They and other ASMSA winners will advance to national Beta Club competition held in June in Greensboro, N.C.
