Gravette Day plans and membership drive under way

— The Greater Gravette Chamber of Commerce announces the “new year brings new progress,” including launching the web site, setting activities for the annual Gravette Day celebration and the start of a new membership drive.

Dan Yates, Chamber president, said, “The new web site, www.gravettearkansas.com, is a great way for businesses and community members to stay connected and updated with Gravette information and activities.

“The site is easily accessible and beneficial not only for Gravette’s current residents but alsofor potential residents to learn more about the businesses, schools, restaurants and other services within the Gravette community.”

Gravette Day Plans

The Chamber announces a tentative schedule has been set for the annual Gravette Day festivities, which will be held August 9-11.

Activities planned include an archery tournament, singing competition, the Miss Gravette pageant, a softball tournament, a 5K run and multiple musical performances. There will be fun for all ages and many more events are being planned, according to the Chamber.

Membership Drive

The GGCC welcomes new members in 2012 and is encouraging both businesses and individuals to become active in the Chamber’s community development efforts. Dues are $25 for individuals and $30 for businesses. A Gold Membership is available for supporters of promoting Gravette. It includes an increased web presence.

The Chamber meets monthly to enjoy a complementary lunch in the basement of Ozarks Community Hospital. Persons interested in gaining more information about the GGCC are welcome at the next meeting which will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 22, Yates said. He may be contacted at 787-8998.
