Gravette to host district tournament next week

— With the District 1-4A basketball tournament scheduled to start next Tuesday in the Gravette Lion competition gym, the Gravette senior boys got into the winning act with two big victories last week.

In a game at the competition gym last Tuesday night the Lions took the 52-51 thriller from the visiting Pea Ridge Blackhawks. On Friday night the Lions came home from another thriller which they won 48-46 over the Hillbillies at their gym in Ozark.

In girls action the Lady Lions did not fare as well as they dropped a 60-50 heartbreaker to the visiting Lady Blackhawks fromPea Ridge Tuesday night. Things did not go well in Gravette’s 52-28 loss to Ozark Friday night.

Two games are scheduled in Gravette this week as the regular season action ends. The Gentry Pioneers and Lady Pioneers were to be in Gravette this Tuesday night and on Friday night Shiloh Christian ladies will be invading Lion territory.

The District 1-4A tournament action will be held Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, starting at 4 p.m. at Lion competition gym. The finals will be held Saturday night starting at 6 p.m.

Admission will be adults - $4, and students - $3. Only Triple A Passes will be accepted.
