GRAVETTE — The Pioneers just could not keep pace with the Lions in their match up in the Lions Competition Gym on Feb. 7.
The Lions jumped aheadin the first quarter, 17-12, and built on that lead throughout the game to finish the Pioneers by a score of 62-37.
Terence Price led the scoring for the Lions with 24 points - half of those being shot behind thethree-point line. Carson Pollreis added 10, Kyle Bilderback, 8, and Matt Van Otterloo, 6. Jeremy McGarrah put in five points and led the Lions in rebounds, powering down six.
No stats were available for the Pioneers.
Gravette girls win
Gravette’s girls also sent the Gentry girls away in defeat, overcoming them in a hard-fought game, 61-51.
Gravette v. Shiloh
Shiloh Christian defeated both Gravette teams onFriday. The boys fell 51-46, and the girls lost 77-54.
Gentry v. Berryville
The Pioneers went on to face Berryville in Gentry on Friday but lost 57-40.
The Lady Pioneers picked up a big win to close outtheir regular season by defeating the Lady Bobcats 46-37.
It was also senior night in Gentry. Senior cheerleaders and basketball players, with their parents, were honored before the varsity games.
