ON THE HONOR ROLLS

— Local students were named on honor rolls recently released from several colleges and universities:

Arkansas Tech University

Arkansas Tech in Russellville released the names of students on its fall 2011 dean’s list, which requires a 3.5 grade point average or higher with at least 12 semester hours. Included on the list were: From Decatur - Claire Amanda Elizabeth Betts, Tera Rachelle Cloud, and Julie LeAnn May (May had a 4.0 GPA); from Gentry - Mary Esther Jordan (Jordan had a 4.0 GPA); and from Gravette - Jacob David Gillespie.

John Brown Univesity

Sheryl Dalke, of Gentry, was named on the president’s list of the John Brown University Degree Completion Program. Students must earn a 3.8 to 4.0 grade point average to be included on the president’s list.

University of Arkansas

The names of all University of Arkansas students who earned a place on the chancellor’s or deans’ lists for the fall 2012 semester are now posted on the university’s Academic Achievement webpage. The page is part of the Arkansas Newswire website, linked from the University of Arkansas homepage.

To be on the chancellor’slist a student must earn a 4.0 grade point average for 12 or more course hours in a semester. Students in the top 10 percent of their college, for 12 or more course hours, are named to their college’s dean’s list. Undergraduates on the chancellor’s list are automatically also on the dean’s list.

Local students included on both lists were:

From Gentry - Shayla Bonner, Thomas Carreira, Kiefer Dooley, Michael Hyatt, Amanda Miller, Alden Smartt, Ayla Smartt and Skyler Williams.

From Gravette - Kayla Boling, Ryan Kozlowski, Erica Leeman, Jessica Murray, Brittany Nims, Samantha Van Otterloo.
