Gentry's Hendrix stars in 'Hairspray'

GENTRY — Kayla Hendrix, a 2011 graduate of Gentry High School, is playing the lead role in “Hairspray” at the Rogers Little Theater. Hendrix plays the role of Tracy Turnblad in the show which runs through this weekend. RLT was the first community theater in Arkansas to present “Hairspray,” with its 1960s Baltimore setting where the 50s are out and change is in the air. Loveable, plus-size heroine Tracy Turnblad has a passion for dancing and wins a spot on the local television dance program, "The Corny Collins Show."
