GRAVETTE — Gravette’s Lady Lions topped the Gentry Lady Pioneers 72-53 in their opening round games in the District 4A-1 tournament held at the Lion Fieldhouse in Gravette last Tuesday.
But a strong Shiloh Lady Saints team outscored the Lady Lions 61-54 in a hardfought game Wednesday to end the season for the home team.
In the game against Gentry, Samantha Pruitt hit five 3-pointers for the Lions as they raced to a 47-26 first-half lead. The Lady Pioneers closed the gameslightly in the third quarter, but a strong Gravette finish ended the contest as the Lady Lions went to second-round action against Shiloh.
In the Gentry game, Destany Wishon led the Lions with 16 points, Pruitt had 15, Kendra Meeker, Monica White and Shelby Frey each added 7, with Jessica Bayley adding 5 and Whitney DeWitt 2.
Scoring for the Lady Pioneers were Destiny Thomas with 14; Tara Arnold, 9; Kaylin Cripps, 5; Karoline Page, 4; Jordan Olds and Hannah Bond, 3 apiece; and Rebekah Cook, 1.
Stats were not available for the Shiloh game.
