E.H. Club members meet

Eleven Maysville E.H. Club members met at the community center February 23 for their monthly meeting. Jewel Crawley was hostess for the delicious lunch which was enjoyed by everyone.

President Orpha Wardlaw called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone. We sang “Make Believe” followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Melinda Crawley gave the inspiration titled Heart Gifts.

A good lesson on Estate Planning was given by Katherine Tucker. She talked about the importance as well as the complexities of estate planning. Gwen Singleton read an amusing article on an unusual addiction. Orphademonstrated a light box she had made to use for tracing quilting patterns. Jewel Crawley showed a child’s overall bib she had made which covered the entire front of the child.

The minutes and treasurer’s report were read and approved, volunteer hours were turned in and a report was given by Sylvia and Melinda concerning problems with the building.

We voted for members to bring items of food to each meeting which will be given to the Baptist Church for their food giveaway.

Melinda Crawley volunteered to prepare an Israeli chicken dish for the Curtain Call tasting table.

Our trip to the Children’s Shelter is still on for March8. Everyone who plans to go should meet at Ihop at 9 a.m. and we will have breakfast before going.

Senior Fun Day will begin March 15. The date for the spring fundraiser has been changed to April 15. Katherine gave a board meeting report. Mary Crawley won the quarter package.

The meeting ended with the benediction.
