— Two prestigious guests are expected at the meeting of the Gravette Kiwanis Club this Friday morning.

Alan Penn, Kiwanis International President, will be speaker at the club’s weekly meeting at 7 a.m. at the Ozarks Community Hospital.

Penn, from Medina, Ohio, is in northwest Arkansas for the MOARK Kiwanis Midwinter Conference scheduled in Springdale March 1-3.

This is the first time in the Gravette club’s history, since its founding in 1975, that the International President has visited.

He will be joined by Gene Bartley, the MOARK Kiwanis governor, of Conway.

Andrea Kelly, superintendent of Gravette schools, is president of the Gravette club.

Penn has served as an active member of Kiwanis for 35 years. He is a retired educator and school administrator and is currently leading the Kiwanis global effort to change the world, one child and one community at a time.

“This is a huge honor for the Gravette Kiwanis Club,” said Morgan Black, club publicist, “and members and visitors are invited to attend the meeting at the OCH cafeteria.”
