GRAVETTE — On Nov. 11, the Gravette Middle School Builders Club held a Veterans Day assembly. Guest speaker was Jim Hendren, an 8-year fighter pilot for the Air Force and an 8-year veteran for the Air National Guard.
The club honored all branches of our military. The choir sang and the band played tribute toour veterans, along with a slide show of area veterans.
Builders Club officers participating in the program included president Jerica Brown, who led the pledge; vice president Hunter Graham, who led the prayer; secretary Kara Smith, who recognized the veterans in the audience; reporter Samantha Roth, who introduced speaker Hendren; and treasurer Kamilla Roth, who introduced the choir.
In the past, the Builder’s Club has sponsored a school dance, raising $600. For Christmas, the club adopted six children and bought Christmas presents for them. Club members raise money to give the Lion Pride Scholarship to a student at the end of the school year. Keep your eyes open for more exciting things from Builder’s Club.
