— Last Week: Sheila Maddford and husband spent some time visiting Novella Carlton last week.

Justin Peterson and family have been visiting in the area this week.

Mae Kilgore passed away on Thursday. Sympathy is extended to the family.

Everyone was sorry to see the Country Store close. Good luck, Wendel. Where will I buy my gas now?

There is a lot of sickness in our community. Keep everyone in your prayers.

Mr. and Mrs. Tom Brooks hosted a New Year’s Eve supper for their parentssiblings and friends on Saturday evening.

If grass grows in January it will grow badly the whole year.

This Week: Imalee Cowick Hendrix passed away Tuesday night. Sympathy is extended to the family.

Mary Hensley and sons Adam and Alex visited with me on Wednesday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Gary Cowick of Dallas, Texas, have spent some time this week with Novella Carlton having been called here by the death of Gary’s mother.

Sympathy is extended to the Bequette family in the loss of their loved one. Judywill be remembered by a lot of Hiwasse people.

Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Rail from Tupelo, Miss., have been visiting relatives in this area. On Saturday they, along with Mr. and Mrs. Ron Lowe and other friends and relatives, attended the wedding of the Lowes’ granddaughter at the Bentonville Church of Christ.

Connie and W. T. Rail visited with Ruby Hight one day.

Marty Rogers is not doing so well. Remember him and the Rogers family in your prayers.

Jan. 11, 1918, a blizzard struck the Midwest, halting mail service for two weeks.
