Mildred ‘Millie’ Barbian

Mildred “Millie” Barbian, 80, of Rogers, died Jan. 20, 2012, at the Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville.

She was born in Quitaque, Texas, June 12, 1931, to Harvey and Vera Foster. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Springdale for more than 40 years, where she was a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and Ladies’ Aid. She enjoyed selling Avon and was a member of the Avon President Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 10 brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her husband, Wilbert Louis Barbian; one son, Louis W. Barbian of Gentry; one daughter, Joyce Barbian Bohannan and husband Randy of Springdale; four grandchildren; and one sister, Betty Joyce Hall of Tyler, Texas.

Graveside services were Jan. 23 at Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Springdale. Mark Krause officiated. Arrangements were by Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Springdale.

Frances Beck

Frances Alene Beck, 82, of Gentry, died Jan. 17, 2012, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.

She was born Jan. 3, 1930, in Jay, Okla., to Pete Small and Bertha Cole Small. She was a homemaker. She attended cosmetology school in Illinois and worked for Allen Canning Company in Siloam Springs for a short time.

Survivors include one stepson, Patrick Beck of Illinois; one stepdaughter, Cindy Desch of Illinois. Arrangements were under direction of Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Marvin Gillming

Marvin Ray Gillming, 40, of Lanagan, Mo., died Jan. 6, 2012, at Freeman Hospital in Neosho, Mo.

He was born July 28, 1971, in Stella, Mo., to Marvin Ray and LaWanna Ray (Ibison) Gillming. He was raised in Lanagan, Mo., and was a 1988 graduate of McDonald County High School. He had been a member of the Army National Guard and attended services at New Life Fellowship in Anderson, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his sister, LaManda Stephenson, and her two children, Tylon and Ravyn Stephenson; maternal grandparents, Wanda and Bobby Gene Duncan; and paternal grandparents, Howard Earl and Lucy (Bird) Gillming.

He is survived by his parents of Point Blank, Texas; two sons, Nichlos David Jordon of Stark City, Mo., and Ryan Scott Gillming of Gravette.

Funeral services were Jan. 10 at Ozark Funeral Home, with Tom Ellis officiating. Burial was at Mount Zion Cemetery in Point Blank, Texas. Arrangements were under direction of the Ozark Funeral Home of Anderson, Mo.

Alma Beck Liles

Alma Beck Liles, 99, of Anaheim, Calif., died Jan. 10, 2012, in Anaheim, where she lived most of her life.

She was born Jan. 13, 1912, in Delaware County, Okla., and moved to California with her first husband. After his death, she married Buck Liles. She was a member of the First Baptist Church for 20 years.

Graveside services were Jan. 18 at Dickson Cemetery, near Cherokee City, with Dennis Weeks officiating. Local arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

Nina Sprague

Nina Leona Sprague, 93, of Gentry, died Jan. 15, 2012, at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison.

She was born Sept. 8, 1918, in McDonald County, Mo., to Benjamin Bryant and Alice Forbes Bryant. She lived most of her life in Gentry and was a homemaker. She married Virgil Thrasher in 1937. After his death she married Howard Sprague. She was a member of Gentry Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include two sons, Dennis Thrasher of Gentry and Arlis Thrasher and wife Jan of Harrison; 2 grandchildren; and 7 greatgrandchildren; and 2 greatgreat-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Jan. 19 at the Gentry Assembly of God Church in Gentry with her sons and Pastor Stowe officiating. Burial followed at New Bethel Cemetery, near Anderson, Mo. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.
