Decatur Youth Sports sign-ups

Decatur Youth Sports will be accepting softball, baseball and T-ball sign-ups until Feb. 10. Boys and girls, ages 5-12, in the Decatur area are eligible to participate. There is a $25 fee to join the teams. Entry forms will be sent home from school with children or can be picked up at the Decatur State Bank. Forms can be dropped off at Decatur schools, the Decatur State Bank or any home basketball game. For more information call Amy Brooks or Jennifer Luker at 752-3281.

Volunteers needed

Gentry Senior Activity Center is in need of volunteers to help deliver Meals on Wheels one day a week. Another driver could be used as well. For more information or to volunteer, contact Jackie Bader at 736-0378 or by email at gentrysac@cox-internet.com.

Pettry Benefit

The family of Nancy Pettry (Smith) has set up a medical/ care benefit fund to help with her care while she is alive and for her final expenses when called home. Anyone wishing to donate can do so at the Bank of Gravett. Her family thanks you for your kindness.

History Book Update

The Sulphur Springs Community Museum Commission is compiling histories for an updated edition of the Sulphur Springs community history book. Residents are asked to submit their family, military or business (old or new) histories. Completed histories and pictures may be turned in until Jan. 31.

Jolly Good Times Club

The monthly meeting of the Jolly Good Times Club will be held Wednesday,January 25, at the Billy V. Hall Senior Activity Center. Members will gather at 10:15 in the sitting room. Mary Griffin will give the program. The potluck meal will feature a meat dish prepared by Betty, salad by Mary and dessert by Susan. Visitors and new members are always welcome.

Faith Alive Revival

Elvin Still and the congregation of Faith Alive Church will host Bob Ely in revival Jan. 29 through Feb. 1.Ely recently ended an 11-year term as president of Southwestern Christian University. He is a full-time evangelist and he and his wife Edith have been in the ministry for 47 years. Everyone is invited to the revival services Sunday at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m. Faith Alive is located 1/4 mile south of 412 on Oklahoma Highway 49 in West Siloam Springs, Okla. Gravette Kiwanis

The Gravette Kiwanis Club holds breakfast meetings at 7 a.m. each Friday at the cafeteria in Ozarks Community Hospital. Guests are welcome.

Computers for Students

The Gentry Lions Club is accepting used computers to be refurbished and given to students needing a computer. The club is currently accepting desktops and laptops. Hard drives are reformatted and a new operating system installed before they are given away. For more information or to donate a computer, call Randy Moll at 233-0081.

Decatur Food Bank

Living Water Ministries in Decatur opens its food bank every other Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at 1148 Highway 102 West in Decatur. Thenext open date for the pantry will be Feb. 3. Anyone who needs assistance is welcome. All that is required is an identification (a photo ID is preferred) and current address. Area Men’s Breakfast

The Decatur United Methodist Church has a men’s breakfast the second Saturday of each month, beginning at 8 a.m., at the Gallery Cafe in Decatur. All area men are invited to join the group for good food and Christian fellowship.

Emergency Help

Families in Gravette School District wishing to apply for emergency help with food or utilities may make application from 9 to 11 a.m., Tuesday through Friday, at the Main Street Care and Share store in Gravette.

Singing Services

Monthly singing services at Falling Springs Church are held at 7 p.m., the first Fridayof each month. The church is located northwest of Gentry and west of Decatur on Falling Springs Road.

Decatur Food Pantry

The Decatur United Methodist Church offers a food pantry program and a commodity food program for residents in Decatur from 5 to 7 p.m. on the first and third Thursday of each month.

Men's Fellowship

First Baptist Church of Gentry has a monthly Men's Fellowship Gathering at 8 a.m. on the third Saturday of each month. All men are encouraged to come for the food and fellowship. Guests are welcome. For more information, contact Madden Waits at 736-5009.

VFW Meetings

Decatur VFW Post 9834 meets at 7 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. New members and guests are welcome. The facility is three miles east of Decatur on Arkansas Highway 102, right on Tilly’s Hill Road, and the first building on the right.
