— Hope everyone enjoyed a good, safe 4th of July.

Sympathy is extended to the family of Colean Marshall Meeks. Colean formerly lived in the area and attended school at Hiwasse.

There was a large crowd at the visitation Tuesday evening and the services Wednesday morning for our dear friend, neighbor and sister in Christ, Billie Keith. We all miss her.

Sympathy is extended to the Belts family in the loss of their mother and grandmother, Ellen Nichols.

Dorene Wills from Jenks, Okla., visited with me on Friday morning. She is in the area to attend the Kerr family reunion at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Kerr in Bella Vista over the Fourth.

Bro. Bob Grace was guest speaker at morning Bible study at the Hiwasse Church of Christ on Sunday morning.

Skylar Carrier is on leave from the Marine Corps spending a few days with family.

Mr. and Mrs. Ward Carrier and I had lunch with DaleLynn, Lamarise and Skylar Carrier on Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Paul Hamilton and family visited with Robert and Geneva on Sunday and helped Robert celebrate his birthday.

Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hamilton and Dean Fletcher visited with Dorothy Willoughby at the Ashley Health Care Center in Rogers. Then the three of them went to Catfish John’s for supper.

Autumn Gregg spent three days with Grandma Novella Carlton this week.

Mr. and Mrs. Larry Holloway have spent some time in Nebraska visiting her family.

The All Star Team, of which Jake Carver is a member, came in third out of 15 in the baseball tournament at Berryville last weekend.

July 4, 1911, it was a hot Fourth of July in New England. All-time state records were set in Nashua, N.H., 106, and in Vernon, Vermont, 105.
