GRAVETTE — Ava Mitchael, 9, daughter of Steven and Jill Mitchael, recently competed in the National American Miss Pageant. She is the granddaughter of John Lee and Ruth Mitchael of Gravette.

Ava, who plays basketball, soccer and the guitar and enjoys dancing and singing, was chosen a state finalist,where she competed with other girls.

In the pre-teen age group, she was fourth runner-up in the top model competition, was most ticket sales winner, won the Spirit of America trophy and also the Outstanding Program participation trophy. She received a crown, sash, the trophies and ribbons and a $75 cash award. “She had the time of her life,” her mother said.
