Police make arrests for assault disorderly

— Police arrested Corey Nordgren, 23, of Gentry shortly after midnight on July 11.

The arrest followed reports at about 11:30 p.m. July 10 that Nordgren was allegedly drinking and out of control, throwing things out of his rented trailer and stabbing the trailer with a knife. Nordgren initially refused to come out of his trailer and talk to police, according to police reports. When he later came out of his trailer and was walking across his landlord's property, policearrested him for public intoxication, the report states.

Once handcuffed and placed in the back seat of a Gentry patrol car, Nordgren kicked out the left, rear passenger window, the report states. When removed from the patrol car, he is alleged to have attempted to kick officers.

Nordgren’s feet were also secured with his belt, according to the police report, and he was transported to the Benton County Jail.

Nordgren was being held in the Benton County Jail on charges of third-degree assault, second-degree criminal mischief, disorderlyconduct and public intoxication, according to the Benton County Jail log. Bond was set at $3,500.

Police also arrested Freddie Decker, Jr., 43, and Betty Marie Thompson, 22, of Gentry, following an alleged argument which escalated into a physical altercation leaving scratches and blood on both Decker and Thompson July 9, according to police reports.

A knife was also picked up by Thompson but not used in the altercation, according to the statements of both Decker and Thompson in police reports.

Both were transported tothe Benton County Jail with misdemeanor domestic violence charges pending. Neither were listed as still being held in jail on Sunday.

Gentry police also assisted the Benton County Sheriff’s Office in the arrest of Timothy B. Brinegar, 37, of Arkotex Road near Gentry on Saturday in connection with felony aggravated domestic assault, false imprisonment, possession of firearms by a felon, two counts of first-degree terroristic threatening and misdemeanor refusal to submit to arrest. Brinegar remained in the Benton County Jail on Sunday with no bond set.
