'Back to School Bash' to help provide students with school supplies

— A local high school student is hosting a “Back to School Bash” on Saturday, Aug. 4, to help elementary-aged students with school supplies.

The “bash” will be a carnival with a variety of games for Bentonville and Gravette school children, hosted by participating high school students and local volunteers. Children can have fun while also trying to win school supplies for the coming year.

The event will be offered in two free sessions, 10 a.m. to noon and noon to 2 p.m, both at Riordan Hall, 3 Riordan Drive,Bella Vista. The event is free, however tickets are required to attend. Tickets will not be available the day of the event.

Cheyenne Dostart, the Bentonville High School student who is organizing the bash, hopes to provide 500 children - from kindergarten through fourth grade - with school supplies. Food will also be sold at the event and the money raised will be donated to Bella Vista’s Cooper Elementary School and Glenn Duffy Elementary School in Gravette.
