Elsie Mae Dillow Broadbooks, 91, of Fairview, Mo., died July 15, 2012, at Granby House in Granby, Mo.

She was born Sept. 12, 1920, in Humboldt, Kan., to James Moore and Leta Juanita Butler Moore. She enjoyed working with her hands, making crafts and flower arrangements, and enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening, fishing and camping. She worked drying eggs in a factory to support the troops during the war. She also worked at the Burlington Overall Factory and Kustom Electronics in Chanute, Kan. She was a member of New Hope Church of the Nazarene in Rogers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 53 years, Earl Dillow; four brothers; two sisters; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one step-greatgrandchild.

She is survived by husband, Byron Ray Broadbooks of Bentonville; three daughters, Florence Alford and husband Delton of Fairview, Mo., Phyllis Felkins of Gravette, Bonnie Ridley and husband Charles of Rogers; three sisters, Bernice Shields of Chanute, Kan., Norma Lee Craft of Chanute, Kan., Sue Gilliland and husband Richard of Pea Ridge; three stepchildren, David Broadbooks and wife Gloria of Rogers, Janna Worden and husband Bill of Utica, N.Y., Susan Eardley of Rogers; seven grandchildren; 18 greatgrandchildren; 12 greatgreat-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; 24 step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-greatgrandchildren.

Graveside services were July 21 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute, Kan. Arrangements were by Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services of Rogers.

Norman Conklin

Norman Eugene Conklin, 74, died July 18, 2012, at his home in Bentonville.

He was born Aug. 19, 1937, in Lincoln, Neb., to Joseph and Ethel Conklin of Baldwin Park, Calif. He worked at Walmart and was a truck driver for Tyson and Willis Shaw for many years. He served in the Armed Forces for four years. He married Nelma Darline Still Conklin on Feb. 22, 1989.

He is survived by his wife, Nelma Darline Still Conklin of Bentonville; a daughter, Cynthia Conklin Dozier and her husband Randy of Gentry; two sons, Loran Conklin and his wife Cheryl of Coventry, R.I., and Patrick Conklin of Dallas, Texas; brother, Edward Joseph Conklin of Spark, Nev.; sister, Wynoma Schultz of Green Valley, Ariz.; sevengrandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A private service will be held at the Conklin home in Bentonville.

Robert Krein

Robert Dean Krein, 77, of Gentry, died July 22, 2012, at Siloam Springs Regional Hospital in Siloam Springs.

He was born March 18, 1935, in Jamestown, N.D., to Jacob Webster Krein and Emma Goldie Krueger Krein. He married Nora Williams on Aug. 7, 1970, at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa. He worked as a building contractorand was a member of the Springtown Seventh-day Adventist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Cayden Elliott Wren.

He is survived by his wife Nora of Gentry; one daughter, Linda Jo Anne Krein Wren and husband Jim of Lincoln, Neb.; three sons, Robert J. Krein and wife Jena, Thomas Dean Krein and wife D’Rae, and James Daryl Krein and wife Judy Kay, all of Gentry; 11 grandchildren, one greatgrandchild, two brothers, Don Krein and wife Wanda of Portland, Ore., and Bill Krein and wife Linda of Lincoln, Neb.; two sisters, Marilyn Rexin and husband Jim of Jamestown, N.D., and Charleen Leavitt and husband Roland of Lincoln, Neb.

Funeral services will be at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 25, at the Gentry Seventh-day Adventist Church in Gentry. Burial will follow at Gentry Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

Kathy McGee

Kathy Lynn McGee, 63, of Highfill, died July 16, 2012, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.

She was born March 7, 1949, in Cassville, Mo., to Russell Easley and Mary Brower Easley. She was vice president/ loan assistant supervisor with Arvest Bank on Highway 412, Siloam Springs, and attended Gentry First Baptist Church in Gentry. Shemarried Denver McGee on July 29, 2008, at Natural Springs, Okla.

She was preceded in death by her father, Russell Easley.

Survivors include her husband Denver; two daughters, Kris Bartik and husband Robert of Denver, Colo., and Rebekah Terrell and husband Joshua of Siloam Springs; stepson, Jason McGee and wife Melissa of Cameron, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; one sister, Le’Ann Watanabe and husband David of Highfill; two brothers, John Easley and wife Sally, of Neosho, Mo., and Mark Easley and wife Carla, of Colcord, Okla.; and her mother, Mary Easley of Colcord, Okla.

Funeral services were July 20 at Gentry First Baptist Church in Gentry, with Robin Cowin officiating. Burial followed at Easley Cemetery in Colcord, Okla. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

Chancel Lee Pike

Chancel Lee Pike, 87, of Rogers, died July 22, 2012, at his home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was born March 30, 1925, in Carrolton, to William Maben Pike and Mary Elizabeth Glenn Pike. He married Pearl Mabel McCary Pike June 1, 1946 at Harrison. He was a drywall finisher for more than 50 years, coming to this area in 1957.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, four sisters and one great-grandson.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Pearl Mabel McCary Pike of the home; five children, Virginia Whitten and husband James of Gentry, Chancel Gene Pike and wife Carolyn of Rogers, Monte Ray Pike and wife Sandy of Hiwasse, Mary Spinks and husband Lewisof Rogers, and Vivian Dye of Rogers; two brothers, Nathan Pike and wife Gert of Centerton, and Ray Pike and wife Wanda of Huachuca, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one greatgreat-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 26, at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 25, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Rollins Funeral Home. Interment will be in Tuck’s Chapel Cemetery.

Betty Rogers

Betty Jean Rogers, 72, of Siloam Springs, died July 19, 2012, at Siloam Springs Regional Hospital, Siloam Springs.

She was born Sept. 26, 1939, in Nicut, Okla., to Oscar Miles Moten and Lucy Josephine Mann Moten. She moved to Siloam Springs 10 years ago from Arizona. She was a registered dietician and worked for the public school system. She attended Turning Point Fellowship in Gentry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter “Bud” Rogers; and three sisters, Joyce Lamkin, Myra Meador, and Evelyn Earls; and one brother, Owen Glen Moten.

Survivors include two sisters, Imogene Heath ofSallisaw, Okla., and Vivian Louise Hames of Stilwell, Okla.; and one step-son, Christopher Rogers of San Diego, Calif.

Memorial services were July 21 at Faith Alive Church, West Siloam Springs, Okla., with Dwayne Driggers officiating.

Curtis Young

Curtis R. Young, 56, of Rogers, died July 17, 2012, in Springdale.

He was born May 25, 1956, in Monett, Mo., to C.A. “Pete” and Mary Juline Gipson Young. He retired in June 2011. He was a systems analyst for the city of Rogers Water Department, where he worked for 25 years. He was a member of the Faith Builders Church in Rogers. He liked to hunt and fish.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Eloise Good.

He is survived by his wife, Debra Murray Young of the home; two sons, Tony Young and wife Samantha of Pea Ridge, and Michael Young of Decatur; one daughter, Sara Young of Pea Ridge; one brother, Kent Young and wife Sharon of Monett, Mo.; and12 grandchildren.

Memorial services were July 22 at the Faith Builders Church, with Tim Horton officiating. Arrangements were by Benton County Funeral Home, Rogers.
