MT. PLEASANT NEWS

— We had a great turn out for the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Memorial Day Celebration. The association had worked hard planning this celebration and it went off without a hitch.

From the history of the cemetery, the reading of the veterans’ names, the music from Cornerstone Gospel band, the releasing of the doves to Taps and the 21-gun salute everything was perfect. Thanks to all who participated to make this celebration a success. I hope the next 100 year celebration will be as good.

Mt. Pleasant just finishedour week at Care & Share. We had a good week. We moved a lot of merchandise. Hopefully, they won't have so much to move and it can be made quickly. Care & Share will re-open at their new location on June 9th, with a grand opening celebration. Hope to see our friends from the old store there. It is good that we have the new building, but I will miss the old one.

Another era on Main Street closes with the closing of the store. Hopefully the Boys & Girls Club will make good use of the building.

Mt. Pleasant will be in revival, beginning June 10 through 13. Brother PaulYoung will be the evangelist, with special music nightly. Service time for Sunday will be 6 p.m., with service time Monday through Wednesday being 7 p.m. Keep us in your prayers for a good revival.

We have had some good rain the last few days, and I for one have enjoyed it. My garden is sure improving. So are the weeds, but that is okay. I can do some weeding. My blackberries are doing fantastic. Now, if the wild ones will do half as good, that will be great. Hopefully, the Lord will continue to bless us with the much needed rain.

Have a blessed week. God bless.
