Police make arrests for DWIs, drugs and theft

Gentry police arrest man for picking up scrap metal on railroad, others for alcohol and drug charges.

— Police made a number of alcohol- and drug-related arrests and also arrested a man for stealing scrap metal.

On Friday, police arrested Robbie Van-Breemer, 30, of Gravette and formerly of Rogers, for theft of property and criminal trespass. According to police, Van-Breemer isalleged to have picked up scrap metal along the railroad tracks in Gentry, just south of the Main Street crossing, and loaded it into his car.

He was transported to the Benton County Jail and later released, according to police.

On May 26, police arrested Tommy D. Reynolds, 58, of New Iberia, La., and formerly of Gravette, for driving while intoxicated with alcohol on Arkansas Highway 59 near the intersection of Highway 12. Reynolds was arrested at 10:43 p.m., according to police and tested .139 blood alcohol content by breath test.

On Saturday, police arrested Chad J. Dana, 34, of Branson, Mo., for driving while intoxicated withalcohol. He was arrested near the corner of Second Street and Collins at 8:46 p.m., according to police and tested .129 BAC.

Following an anonymous tip on May 24 that a man was dealing drugs in the city park, police questioned Jorge Louis Hernandez-Ruiz, the driver of a Honda Civic, and discovered small plastic bags with what appeared to be crystal meth on the floor of the back seat, according to a Gentry police report.

Hernandez-Ruiz claimed he was being set up, according to the report. He was charged with possession of methamphetamine with purpose to deliver and was transported to the Benton County Jail.
