FFA members receive awards

— Members of the Decatur High School FFA received a number of awards at the 85th Arkansas State FFA Convention, according to Decatur agriculture teacher Lisa Barrett.

The convention was held at Camp Couchdale near Hot Springs onJune 6-8. FFA members participated in the election and nomination of officers and listened to guest speakers at the event.

The Decatur FFA chapter received a National Chapter Award and an FFA for Food Fiber and Shelter Award. Recently graduated Decatur seniors LenseyWatson and Kourtnee Funk received their State FFA Degrees at the convention. In addition, Watson was a state sheep proficiency winner and a finalist in Stars over Arkansas. She also received a National FFA Cargill Scholarship for $1,000 and the Camp Couchdale Clean Up Award.
