Crawley is named Dairy Ambassador

— During 4-State Dairy Days on June 14 in Bentonville, Jessica Crawley of Maysville was named Arkansas’ first state Dairy Ambassador.

Susan Anglin of Bentonville, chair of Benton County Farm Bureau’s Women’s Committee, was on hand to congratulate the 15-year-old.

Jessica is the daughter of dairy farmers Tim and Nickki Crawley of Benton County.

The Dairy Ambassador Program has three levels of criteria for participants. Levels of participation must include dairy promotion activities the individual conducts prior to theambassador program judging, and the individual also must participate in the county’s dairy foods contest.

The next level is aninterview by a panel of judges to determine the student’s knowledge about dairy farming and products. The final level of participation is an oral presentation on “What’s so great about dairy?”

Jessica will make appearances throughout the year to represent the Dairy Farmers of Arkansas. She will assist with the governor’s signing of a June Dairy Month proclamation, the state Dairy Foods Contest, the Arkansas State Dairy Show, 4-State Dairy Days and other events that promote the importance of dairy farmers and thedairy industry.

The Dairy Ambassador program is sponsored by Arkansas Farm Bureau, the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service and Midwest Dairy Promotion.
