Community Garden plots to be made available

— After suffering from too much rain, followed by a month of record setting 100-degree temperatures last year, the Gravette Community Gardens announce plans for a “better year in 2012.”

The theme for the gardens this year is “Family Gardening” and the garden board members are “encouraging families and organizations to adopt a plot.”

Each plot will be 12’ x 12’. The plot will be tilled and ready for you to plant. Shovels, rakes, hoses and other garden supplies are available for use. Seed and beddingplants will be available until they are gone. Even the water is supplied.

All you have to do is plant, weed, water and watch it grow!

The only catch is that each family or group give back a portion of their harvest to the food pantry or someone in need.

The gardens are located adjacent Highway 59 across from Arvest Bank, and those who participated two years ago remember that successful season at the site.
