Gravette man gets probation for still

— A Gravette man was placed on six years of state-supervised probation for operating a still.

Eric Nathan Dailey, Sr., 46, pled guilty last monthto illegal distribution of a distilled beverage, a Class D felony. The plea came under an agreement public defender Jay Saxton reached with deputy prosecutor A.J. Anglin. Dailey was arrested Nov. 16, 2007.

Benton County Sheriff ’s Office investigators confiscated a still and more than a gallon of moonshine on Dailey’s property at 19651 Mount Olive Road. Investigators also found a notebook with a moonshine recipe.Deputies suspected the still may have been in operation for up to two years.

Dailey was placed on probation under Act 346, which means his conviction can be expunged if he successfully completes probation.
