Pioneers win first outdoor track meet of the season

— The Pioneers participated in the first outdoor meet of the season, the Tyson Invitational meet held Friday at Green Forest. Sixteen teams competed and the Pioneers scored 127 points to take first place.

Kevin Parrish also tookthe high-point award with 38.5. Alex Wiebe also won the 1600 and 3200 and ran an automatic qualifying time of 10:30 in the two-mile run for the state meet.

Other results include: Kevin Parrish - 38.5 points, wining the 100 and 200; Alex Wiebe - 20 points, winning the 1600and 3200 and automatically qualifying in the 3200; Jarred Cousins - 19.5 points and tied Austin Millsap's school record in the pole vault at 12 feet; Colby Bryant - 15.5 points; and Elijah Ramsey - 14.5 points.

The Girls finished in sixth place. winning the 3200 and 1600 relays.
