DECATUR — Fourteen Decatur band students received a “I” or “II” rating at the Region 7 Solo and Ensemble Contest at West Fork High School on March 9.
Students prepared a solo, duet, trio or quartet for the competition to be performed for a judge, who then gave the performance a rating, band director Kristen Wages said.
A “I” rating is the highest score possible, followed by a “II,” and students who earned “I” and “II” ratings were awarded medals.
“I am delighted that our scores reflect the hard work these students have put into their practice,” Wages said.
