Jolly Good Times Club met

— The regular monthly meeting of the Jolly Good Times Club was held Wednesday, Feb. 22, at the Billy V. Hall Senior Activity Center with three members and one guest, Charlie Griffin, present.

The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and members sang “The Red, Red Robin Comes Bob, Bob, Bobbin’ Along.” Vicepresident Susan Holland read a meditation.

Roll call was answered by Betty with a joke about the short prayer before a meal. A child present asked the pastor, “You don’t pray long when you’re hungry, do you?” Mary read a joke about a good way to find your bearings: Check which direction the satellite dishes are facing. Susan shared a reading withsome good ways to put a spin on a story.

Treasurer Mary Griffin reported she had made the club’s contribution to the Senior Center’s “Meals on Wheels” program. A memorial for Eda Montag is to be discussed further next month.

Susan Holland presented a travelog of a trip to Washington, D.C., which included the Hermitage, Savannah, Ga., Charleston, S.C., Fort Sumter, Middleton Place, Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown.

The next meeting will be held at 10:30 a.m. April 25. Betty Howard will give the program.
