MAYSVILLE NEWS

— Rain was in the forecast but we didn’t get any by Sunday night and we sure did need it. We were thankful for the good rain that began early Monday morning.

There was a spring council meeting in Bentonville on Friday for all Benton County E.H. clubs. Maysville club had six members attend, Sylvia Tucker, Orpha Wardlaw, Katherine Tucker, Jewel Crawley, Melinda Crawley and Bert Ballmann. Tabitha Crawley came withher mother and we had three guests. It was a very good program celebrating 100 years of county E.H. Clubs. We had two members get a certificate for 55 years, Jewel Crawley and Katherine Tucker.

Johnnie Mae Marshall is home from Springdale hospital after spending a few days. She is doing fine. Her daughter Linda is here to spend some time with her.

Sylvia Tucker visited Johnnie Mae Marshall on Saturday afternoon. She was glad Johnnie got to come home. They had a good visit.

I ate supper with Helen and Gary Chism on Friday evening. They invited me for homemade vegetable soup and cornbread. It sure was good. We all enjoyed the time together. Two of their grandsons, Billy Cook and Jacob Ballmann, were there too.

It was good to have Mary Lou Slinkard visit our club meeting on Thursday. She gave us a brief report of her work and what she has accomplished. Remember the primary election is May 22. Don’t forget to mark your calendar.
