Old Timer's Day set

— Old Timer's Day is set for Saturday, May 5, in Southwest City; and the Southwest City Parks and Recreation, along with community members, are inviting all to attend and participate in the town's activities.

Scheduled for the day are: A pancake breakfastserved by the fire department from 7 to 10 a.m.; a five-kilometer race and one-mile fun run at 8 a.m.; area crafters and vendors from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.; entertainment from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.; an Old Timer's parade at 11 a.m.; an authentic Old Timer's costume contest with age divisions ranging from newborn to adult at 11:30 a.m.; a "Kiddie" tractorpull at 1 p.m.; a cash drawing (must be present to win) at 3 p.m.; with the Old Timer's Day Rodeo set for 8 p.m.

Other special events will be held at local businesses and at the SWC Anne Croxdale Memorial Library.
