DECATUR — The Decatur High School Track Teams placed in five events in the 2A State Track Meet, held in Mineral Springs on May 2.

“They did very well, we were proud of them,” said coach Shane Holland.

Seven boys and three girls qualified to compete in the state track meet after the Decatur team placed second in the conference track meet.

Following are the Decatur athletes who placed in the 2A State Track Meet: Boys

800 - Sixth place Trey Kell, Decatur, 2:16.20.

1,600 RELAY - Sixth place for Decatur team members Evan Owens, Victor Urquidi, Mario Urquidi and Trey Kell with a time of 3:50.73.

3,200 RELAY - Seventh place for Decatur team members Trey Kell, Josh Hare, Andrew Harris and Clay Norman with a time of 9:33.19.

POLE VAULT - Third place, Evan Owens 11-8; eighth place Mario Urquidi, 9-6.

Girls

300 HURDLES - Sixth place Lacy Barrett, with a time of 55.26.
