ā€” The Winrock Rural Capacity Building Tour has been postponed until July 17 and 18, according to an email from Bev Saunders, director of the Gentry Chamber of Commerce.

Gentry was selected as the site for an Arkansas Rural Development conference and training by Winrock International. The two-day conference, to be hosted by the city of Gentry, Winrock International, the USDA and the Gentry Chamber of Commerce, was to be held June 4 and 5, but schedulingconflicts made it difficult for many to come. About 30 visitors from across the state of Arkansas were expected for tours and workshops.

Saunders said the delay will give everyone a little more time to get things ready. She is urging businesses and residents to do all they can to clean up and spruce up the town for the event.

ā€œIā€™m always proud to show Gentry off. This group will be touring the entire town, including the parks. I want them to leave with a great impression of our town and our citizens,ā€ Saunders said.
