— Preparations are currently underway at the Southwest City Cultural Center to welcome award-winning composer and recording artist, Brian Henke, who will be performing in concert at the Center on Saturday June 2, 2012.

Henke describes his unique finger-style acoustic guitar music as, “a big stewpot of everything, stirred up, simmered, and served to taste.” His musical compositions have been featured in the top ten on the International New Age Radio Charts.

Henke has won multiple acoustic and electric guitar awards, and was recently a finalist in the National Fingerstyle Contest in Winfield, Kan., as well as the National Guitarmageddon Regional Finals in Boston, and received recognition in New Age Reporters Top 10 for 2006 and 2010.

His somewhat mystical, thought-provoking and spiritually-inspired music has been well received worldwide and promises a memorable concert to music lovers in our area.

Southwest City Cultural Center president Joyce Morris said, “I first saw Brian Henke at the National Fingerstyle Contest in Winfield, Kan., last year and was very impressed, not only with his extraordinary musical talents, but also his fun, story telling and performance style. This performance is a unique must-see concert!”

Tickets are on sale now by calling Joyce Morris at 417-762-3191, or at the door the night of the concert at the Southwest City Cultural Center, 207 South Broadway ( behind Main Street Lumber).

Music begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15.00 on a firstcome-first-served basis.

"Seating is limited, so don't be disappointed - don't wait!" Morris said.
