— The Gravette Post Office collected more than a ton of food products in the recent “Stamp Out Hunger” project sponsored nationally by the U.S. Postal Service.

The 2,100 pounds of food has been donated to the “Feed My Sheep” food pantry in Gravette for distribution in the area by that nonprofit agency.

More than a thousand pounds of the total were collected by rural carriers on Saturday, May12, the designated day when postal patrons left bags and boxes of food items by their rural mail boxes.

Donations were also received at bins in the local office and from Marvin’s, Dollar General, the Bank of Gravett and Walmart stores in Gravette and Siloam Springs.
