Community college honors Dalrymple

— Northwest Arkansas Community College has chosen Jerri Dalrymple as the Golden Eagle Award recipient for April.

Dalrymple, a resident of Gentry, was nominated for the award by Carol Olson, a math faculty member.

“She is a go-getter and will be a strong leader,” Olson wrote.

Dalrymple is an active member of Sigma Kappa Delta, NWACC’s English Honor Society, which is a chapter of the National English Honor Society for students at two-year colleges and is open toEnglish and non-English majors who enjoy language and literature and want to encourage others to do so through on-campus and community service. She is also a member of Phi Theta Kappa, an international honor society of two-year colleges designed to promote scholarships, leadership, and service and cultivate fellowship among qualified students.

Dalrymple is a 4.0 student with 13 hours this semester. In addition to her academics, she is a busy mother of three and an active member in her church, Cornerstone Baptist Church near Gentry.She enjoys reading classic literature, writing of all sorts, and creates handmade greeting cards. She plans to obtain her associate of science degree in nursing and become licensed as a bilingual registered nurse, then go on and earn a bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Students may be nominated for NWACC’s Golden Eagle Award by an instructor, administrative staff person or a student organization adviser. Each candidate must have at least a 3.0 grade point average in a minimum of six credit hours of class and demonstrate required skills.
