A perfect day for 123 Gravette grads

— “Always have faith,” Gravette’s 123 seniors were advised by Jo Ellen Hastings, their high school principal, who spoke to Gravette's largest graduating class last Saturday morning, May 26, 2012.

“Reach for the stars in your walk through life,” she told them. But, she admonished: “Always be yourself.”

Lion stadium was packed with people at the 10 a.m. ceremony. The weather was mild but tempered with a stiff breeze that captured the caps of several graduates as they participated in their final journey at Gravette High.

Logan Hirsch, distinguished high honors grad, introduced Mrs. Hastings. High honors and honors grads, Dallas Banta, Stephen Benson, Chloee Duncan, Kelsey Gregory, Holly Halpin, Connor Houtchens, Lauren Kara, Brandon Meek, Eden Morris, Eric Rambadt, Ashley Steenberger, Holly Wells and Katelyn Wilkins participated in the ceremonies or at the Baccalaureate service held Friday evening at the Performing Arts Center where Jheri Roberts and Mike Meek were speakers.

Following her address, Hastings, who is retiring after 18 years as principal at GHS, introduced the graduating candidates for presentation of diplomas by Dan Yates, president of the school board, and superintendent of Schools Dr. Andrea Kelly.
