Recycling program promoted in Gravette

— Louise Mann, representing a firm retained by Benton County Solid Waste District, visited with several Gravette citizens Tuesday of last week to promote a recycling education program for the community and area.

Mann, founder of Waste Reduction Resources LLC in Fayetteville, explained the program which primarily will be involved as an education thrust geared toward children, as well as adults, stressing the importance of a comprehensive recycling program.

She is working with Allyson Ransom, director of communications and resource efficiency for the city of Gravette, and will be holding further introductory meetings in coming weeks.

Attending the first briefing besides Ransom were Ken Foxx, Bryan Johnson, Miriam Rowe and Dodie

Ransom said several faculty members from the school system will be able to attend future meetingsas the project progresses. Other citizens interested in developing a more efficient recycling system in the areaare requested to contact Ransom, 787-5368, for information and to be advised of the next meeting.
