Sharp reports school year activities

— Janna Sharp, parent involvement coordinator at Gravette High School, issued the following report of activities during the current school year:

“To start off a great year, GHS hosts an annual open house. All GHS students and parents are encouraged to attend. They receive information on test scores, report to the public,rules and procedures, locker assignment, class schedule and other valuable information. GHS reported 89 percent attendance at our annual open house.

“GHS co-hosted a financial awareness night with the Gravette Public Library. A few parents and community members attended and received a lot of valuable information. For our fall parent-teacher conference, the high schoolreported 38 percent attendance.

“For the spring Career Action Play Conference, the high school reported 89 percent attendance. During late spring the high school hosts an eighth grade orientation night at which students and parents are encouraged to attend a brief introduction and complete an initial course request sheet. GHS reports 84 percent attendance at our eighth grade orientation night.”
